Choosing which day the Calendar opens on
Settings › General settings now includes a Calendar opening day preference: choose the day your Calendar opens on.

Yesterday is the useful one for morning review: a full, closed day of data rather than one still in progress. With Today or Yesterday set, the Calendar returns to that day each time you open it.
The same page also holds your default landing page — the screen you see when you sign in, chosen from Home, Overview, Calendar or Q-Lens, with Q-Lens offered only where it's available to you — and your default color strategy for the Calendar. All three are personal: they affect only your account.
Unless you change them, the Calendar opens on System default. The default color strategy and landing page are set by your organization; typically the Calendar colors by Appts / Exams and you land on the Calendar after signing in.
Changes save automatically, confirmed by a Preferences saved. message.
Which default wins
Several things can decide what the Calendar shows when you open it. They apply in this order, and the first one that applies wins:
A link you followed. A shared Calendar URL carrying an explicit date or view always wins — that is what makes a shared link reproduce what the sender saw.
Your own default view. A view you saved and flagged as your default beats the deployment-wide default, for you only.
Your Calendar opening day. If you set Today or Yesterday, the deployment's default view is suppressed and the Calendar opens on that day.
The deployment default view. The view your organization has flagged as its default.
Nothing set — the Calendar opens on its normal default day.
The consequence worth knowing: setting an opening day of Today or Yesterday overrides your organization's default view, but not a personal default view of your own. If you have saved your own default view and also set an opening day, the view wins. Clear your personal default view if you want the opening-day preference to take effect.
